HI everyone! i'm back...common tests' over now n though im dreadin e results, let's not go into it shall we...i noe i sound cheerful n wide awake but actually im like dozin off every sec now...haha...thn y still up?cos don wanna leave my blog stagnant 4 so long lor...ltr others say i nvr utilize my blog...waste his/her efforts...okay, aft all tat digressin wanna noe abt e sumptuous dinner i had??(k, some of u wld say no, i noe, but still...) yum...
you see, my cousin, RUTH, is turning 17 soon (dono d date lar, aiya) so w3 went 2 a restaurant 2 celebrate lorz...it was called 'si4 chuan1 dou4 hua1' restaurant...it was 60 storeys high lor...n u get quite a nice view whn u r tat high up...cld see victoria theatre, the durians, raffles city, spore river, maxwell, suntec, blah blah blah...nice lar...in two words
whn we got there, ard 7, e sun was setting mah...so it was damn nice looking outta d windows...red sun wif clouds n everything...but thn hor...i din bring camera leh...wdh...so wasted rite?hai...now onli wenhao has nice views of clouds n sun lo...hmph....so unfair...anyways, i spent most of my time waitin 4 my couz's family lookin at d scenery n takin stupid pics wif my hp cam...lousy like anything...
k, so my couz came exactly at 7.30...they werent late, i was early...hahaha....see...i can be early onez hor!! then tea was served...those kinda teapots wif loooon9 spouts n a pro china man pouring tea like he was doin acrobatics...haha...was nice but w/o cam, it was borin...(now i noe wad i cant live w/o)...then...the first dish...cold plate...served in a bowl wif 7 partitions...quite cute lar...shaped lyk a flower...they had: seafood salad, sichuan sliced pork, spicy fried beancurd, jellyfish(spicy too), beans, and sth other things . the only complain fr every1 was e sliced pork's very hot...it's not like those kinda instant spicyness but e hotness comes onli in ur throat... ...w.a.t.e.r...help...
the 2nd dish...shark's fin!! with crab meat...very shiok...everyone has their own bowl of shark's fins...ooo...a lot lor...e fins were fan-shaped n there were plenty of fins...imagine d number of sharks tat died...okie...nxt, we had fish...a red shi2 ban1(izzit called a grouper or sth)...the fish meat...wow...smooth n tender like anything...plus it was a bit springy too...very nicee...fresh fish...ahhh, tender white meat...heavenly
nxt, we had not beijing roast duck but another kinda duck...wif mini paos whre u put d thinly sliced duck in wif e sauce...every1 was commentin on how cute d paos look lo...lol...n they asked if d restaurant sold d paos separately...well can u guess how much was 10 of these mini paos?? $2? $5? $10? nah...it wasnt so cheap ....nor was it extremely expensive...though it's still pretty costly...wanna noe?? haha...it's $8 for 10...80 cents each! n they were jus e size of my mp3...aiyo..
so far...every dish had been nice n stil not too spicy 4 my sensitive-to-spicyness tastebuds...n then came the 5th dish...curry seafood...or as they called it san(three) xian(seafood: hai xian)...one was prawn, the other fish n lastly sotong...e prawn was curled up lyk a ball quite cute...d sotong was skillfully cut n carved wif cross patterns...d fish? still fabulous...but thn....d curry...uncontainably spicy...it totally creates hell whn it gets down ur throat...burnin n causin9 every1 2 be fooled by its much-less-spicy initial sensation...even our maid who's an expert in eating hot n spicy food cldnt stand it...much less me...my lips were red n so red tat my mother tot i had ulcers all over my lips...aiyoyoyo....y did they make it so damn spicy.....!!!
plus, d sensation still lingers as we ate our nxt dish...vegetables with abalone...do you noe, whn we swallow d xiao bai cai, i cld feel e hotness arisin in my throat once more...i had 2 control it fr makin me choke lyk our maid did...very hot lar!! oh man...even aft drinkin tea n everything...still had e spicyness in my throat...but luckily, aft this dish...it wasnt so bad le...so we carried on onto our last dish b4 dessert....traditional noodles...gotta say their noodles r nth like those lousy ones we haf at normal restaurants...this wasnt greasy n it was v fragrant...so though we were all quite full le, we cld still finish our noodles...every strand of it...
ah ha...finally dessert...it was xue3 ge2...donno if u've heard of it...but i learnt tat it actually came fr some 'frog' which uses its saliva 2 make it...like bird nest...except it looks lyk small lumps of jelly...very soft n it can just slip down ur throat w/o chewin...e dessert oso consists of lotus seeds, red dates, n longan...d 'soup' or 'syrup' was very sweet...d dessert spoon was very sticky bcos of this...so u noe how fattenin this is...haha...anyway...really enjoy d dinner...n e portion was jus rite...wasnt really bloated but it was fillin9...totally enjoyed e atmosphere n food...even d tea (Eight Treasure Tea) ...hope 2 return there some day...ahh....d bill wasnt too expensive too...$77.57 per person...considerin this was all ala carte very cheap le...lol....jealous not? i had such a scrumptious dinner...jus cause my couz's turnin 17...muahahahahaz
i just want to look at your smile
and observe it.
make time stop by singing
the LULLABY. ♥
